Summer Return Visit Programme

Are you interested in making friends with mainland university students and broaden your network? Do you want to polish your communication skills with people from diversified background which will be beneficial for your personal development? If yes, here comes the chance!

College will be organizing “Summer Return Visit Programme” (書院暑期互訪計劃) from 23rd to 29th July, 2019, which students and teachers from 5 mainland universities will be invited to visit our College. We would like to invite you to be one of the College Student Ambassadors to accompany the delegates and introduce HK to them. The theme this year is “Social Inclusion” (社會共融). Various programme content will be designed to enable participants to know more about how people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, new immigrants and the underprivileged integrate themselves into the community. Mainland Institutes

5 institutes joining, each will choose around 8 students, accompanied by 1 teacher

· Yunnan University (雲南大學)

· Zhide College, Fudan University (復旦大學志德書院)

· Chungying College, Xi’an Jiaotong University (西安交通大學仲英書院)

· Kuang Yaming Honors School, Nanjing University (南京大學匡亞明學院)

·  School of Public Affairs and Administration, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (電子科技大學公共管理學院)

Programme Content

·  Theme related activities:

a) Visit Equal Opportunities Commission and/or Legislative Council

b) Visit schools which most students are from ethnic minorities / mainland China

c) Visit NGOs/schools concerning this theme to do voluntary service

· Other activities:

a) Ice-breaking / Team-building activities

b) Campus Tour

c) Museum visit

d) 1 day free time

College Student Ambassadors

·  Quota: Around 25

·  Role: Assist College in the logistic arrangement (eg. pick up delegates in airport with the coach arranged by College), accompany the delegates and show them around HK throughout the programme. Fee: Free of charge (accommodation in College student hostel and meals except free time will be provided)

·  Eligibility: All WYS students (priority will be given to local students, but international students who can speak Mandarin are also welcome to join)
